About Household Bug Finder

A practical app that identifies ten kinds of insect found indoors from a photo, and tells you what to do about them. "What is this bug?", "Is it harmful?" and "What should I do?" can all be answered on the spot.

[Who it is for]
- People who found a bug in the kitchen, the bathroom or the entrance and want to calm down and check what it is
- People who first want to know whether it is harmful and whether it is safe to go near
- People who want everyday tips for keeping bugs from coming back
- People who do not want their photos sent anywhere (nothing is ever sent)

[What it does]
- Photograph the insect, or pick a picture from your album
- The identification runs inside this device and the candidates are shown
- What it is, whether it is harmful, what to do now, and how to keep it from coming back
- For the kinds that bite or sting, the caution comes first, before anything else
- The list of what the app covers can be checked at any time

[How to use it]
1. When you find a bug, stay calm and take a photo. Do not touch it with bare hands and do not get too close
2. The candidates appear from the photo
3. On the result screen, read the features, whether it is harmful, what to do now, and tips for prevention
4. If you are unsure, open the list of covered insects and compare

[Covered (ten kinds)]
House fly, pill bug, brown-marmorated stink bug, smoky-brown cockroach, black garden ant, house centipede, German cockroach, Japanese giant centipede, Asian tiger mosquito, varied carpet beetle.
If you photograph something outside these ten, the app does not force a match.

[For insects that bite or sting]
When a candidate such as a centipede appears, the caution is shown before the normal result. You get the basics: keep your distance and do not touch it with bare hands.

[Said plainly]
- Photographs and results never leave this device
- The result is a guide. It is not a guaranteed identification
- Do not use it to decide what to do about a bite or a sting, or how dangerous something is. If a symptom worries you, please see a medical provider
- Follow the instructions on the label of any product you use
- There are no ads

[Questions people ask]
Q. Does it need an internet connection?
A. No. Identification runs on your phone, so it works without a signal.
Q. Are my photos stored somewhere online?
A. No. Photos and results stay on your phone. Nothing is sent to an outside server.
Q. What should I do if I have been bitten?
A. The app cannot advise on that. If a symptom worries you, please see a medical provider.

[Using it]
Everything is free during the trial period. After that, five identifications a month are free. A one-time purchase (not auto-renewing) removes the limit.
