About Stargazing Log & Sky Diary

Never again find out afterwards that last night was the meteor shower. Stargazing Log tells you what the night sky is doing, and keeps the skies you actually saw.

[Who it is for]
- You hear about a meteor shower or an eclipse, but only notice on the day and miss it
- You love looking at the stars and want to keep a record of the nights you watched
- You want to see your stargazing plans laid out on a calendar
- You want a photo of the sky you saw and a line about how it felt, together
- You want to enjoy night-sky events without any deep knowledge of astronomy

[Do not miss what the sky is doing]
- Meteor showers, lunar eclipses and other events on a calendar
- A quiet reminder in advance, as the night approaches

[Keep the sky you saw]
- Save the night you watched, with a photo and a few words
- Look back later at the sky of that particular evening

[Events included]
- Astronomical events for 2026 and 2027 are included inside the app (source: the Japan National Astronomical Observatory's almanac)
- They include the three major meteor showers (Quadrantids, Perseids and Geminids), full moons, lunar eclipses, planetary oppositions and greatest elongations
- The events were chosen to be visible from Japan. The app does not use your location

[Example]
1. Open the calendar and check the events coming up
2. As the night approaches, a reminder arrives in advance
3. After you have looked up, save the night with a photo and a few words
4. Later, open the notebook and look back at that sky

[In daily life]
- Find out the peak night of this month's meteor shower ahead of time

What’s new

Version 1.3.5 · Updated October 25, 2026

The Observation summary now has a "By weekday" view, so you can see which nights of the week you stargaze most. With 3 or more records, a new "Observation summary" shows your counts by month, place, and target. Sky events now come with a plain-language explanation (meteor showers, planets, the Moon, eclipses). The first screen now shows a sample of how your records will look. Calendar day cells are a little taller, so the screen feels fuller.
