How to make a feature graphic

  1. Paste your Google Play or App Store link and press Load app. The icon, name, screenshots and a colour scheme from the icon are filled in. You can also upload your own icon and screenshots.
  2. Pick a layout, edit the headline and tagline, and adjust the font and background.
  3. Press Download PNG and upload the file in Play Console under Grow users → Store presence → Main store listing → Graphics.

Google Play feature graphic requirements

Size1024 × 500 pixels
FormatJPEG or 24-bit PNG, with no alpha (transparency) channel
File sizeUp to 15 MB

If Play Console rejects a PNG you made elsewhere, the file almost always has an alpha channel. Browsers and most design tools save PNGs with one even when nothing is transparent. This generator writes the pixels as 24-bit RGB, so the upload goes through.

Design tips

  • Keep it simple. The graphic is often shown small; a big name and one short line read better than a paragraph.
  • Stay away from the edges. Keep text and your icon inside the dashed guide, since the graphic can be cropped or scaled.
  • Mind the play button. If you add a promo video, Google Play can show a play button over the middle of the graphic. The Screenshots layout keeps the centre clear; turn on the guides to check the others.
  • No promotional claims. Google Play doesn’t allow words like “free”, “best”, “#1” or “new”, prices, or calls to action such as “download now” in store graphics. The tool warns you when it spots them.
  • Use real screenshots. The graphic should show what the app actually looks like.

Is my image private?

Yes. Everything is drawn in your browser, and files you upload stay on your device. When you load an app, its store images pass through AppPage.net only so the browser is allowed to draw them.
