Why compare your app with competitors?
People choose between a handful of apps in the same search results. Seeing your listing next to theirs shows where you lose the comparison: fewer ratings, older updates, missing screenshots or a title that leaves out what everyone else says.
What the comparison shows
| Area | What’s compared |
|---|---|
| Ratings | Average rating, number of ratings, 1-star share and the rating distribution; installs on Google Play |
| Listing | ASO score and its parts, title and subtitle or short description, description length, screenshots, promo video, feature graphic |
| Maintenance | Last update, release date, version, size, languages, content rating |
| Money | Price, in-app purchases, ads |
| Keywords | Phrases competitors use that you don’t, phrases you share, phrases only you use, and where your keywords appear and rank for each app |
How to use keyword gaps
A gap isn’t automatically a keyword to add. Keep the ones that describe what your app really does, then put the most important one in your title or subtitle and use the others where they read naturally. Check how each app ranks for them with the keyword rank checker.
