About Times Up!
1) Learning objectives: To know the hours, half an hour and quarters on the clock and form a good habit to value time.
2) Theoretical guidance: With children’s development in the concept of time, children aged from 5 to 6 are interested in accurately telling time. For example, they will be interested in what time to get up and what time to have meals. Seize the sensitive period to help children to read the clock correctly.
3) Creative learning: In the game “Times Up!”, children observe the position of monsters and adjust the hour hand and minute hand intentionally. As a result, they will know the hours, half an hour and quarters on the clock.
4) Suggestions for parents: Parents can enhance children’s sense of time in daily life. For example, tell children to get up at 7:30am and to have breakfast at 8:00am. When the time comes, teach the children to look at the clock. Do it repeatedly, and the children will soon know the clock. In addition, parents should enhance children’s concept of valuing time.
