About High Seas

1) Learning objectives:To cultivate children’s teamwork spirit, train their frustration resistance, and inspire their social awareness of environmental protection.

2) Theoretical guidance:The Cognitive Development Theory of Piaget, a famous Swiss psychologist points out that children aged 2-7 years are in the pre-operational stage, which is remarkably characterized their self-centeredness. Children in this period need to be fostered to learn to view things from an objective stance and from the viewpoint of others in order to help children get rid of self-centeredness and cultivate their sociality.

3) Creative learning:In the game “High Seas”, children not only have their own tasks, but also need to cooperate with companions to coordinate or distribute responsibilities, overcome various hardships and barriers and get success finally. The game aims to give children the sense of achievement and sense of group honor, tells children to set a goal before doing things and then move forward courageously, and improves children’s perseverance.

4) Suggestions for parents:Parents should create environment in life and encourage children to share with companions. For example, the Parent Committee of the Kindergarten can hold a parent-child salon and organize parent-child travel. During the activities, in order to cultivate children’s perseverance and sense of responsibility, parents should give certain tasks to children and encourage them to complete them, while the cultivation of children’s awareness of environmental protection should be closely related to daily life through arbitrary education and examples.
