About Shotaway - Screenshot Cleaner

Scroll back far enough in your gallery and it turns into a wall of screenshots. Boarding passes, order confirmations, a map you needed once, a chat someone forwarded. Long-pressing each one and hunting for the trash icon gets old after ten. Shotaway turns that chore into a deck of cards: it pulls out only your screenshots, shows them one at a time, and lets one flick of your thumb decide whether each one stays or goes.

■ Screenshots only, nothing else
Shotaway reads the Screenshots album on your phone and nothing outside it. Vacation photos and camera shots never enter the deck. Before you start, the home screen tells you how many screenshots you have and roughly how much space they take up, which is usually all the motivation you need.

■ Four directions, four decisions
Cards come up one by one. Flick down to mark a screenshot for deletion. Swipe left to keep it and move on. Swipe right to undo whatever you just did. Swipe up to star the ones you actually want to find again. After a handful of cards it becomes muscle memory.

■ Nothing is deleted until the very end
While you swipe, nothing leaves your phone. Delete candidates pile up in the background. When you finish, you get one review screen where you can pull anything back out, then Android shows its own confirmation dialog once. Only after you confirm there does the batch actually go. No dialog for every single image, and no surprises.

■ See what you got back
When the batch is done, a result card shows "N deleted · N MB freed." It also keeps a running total of everything you have cleared since you started using the app, and you can share the card if the number is worth bragging about.

■ Pick the order that fits the job
Sort oldest first, largest first, or shuffle. Oldest first is the default because old screenshots are almost always done being useful. If you are out of storage right now, switch to largest first and watch the freed space climb after just a few cards.

■ Stop whenever, resume wherever
Shotaway remembers where you left off. Do twenty cards on the train and twenty more before bed, and you never see the same screenshot twice.

■ Your photos stay on your phone
The app makes no network requests at all, so there is no path for a screenshot to leave your device. There is no account to create and no ads. Photo access is used for exactly two things: reading your screenshots and deleting the ones you confirmed.

■ Quick answers
Will it touch my regular photos? No. Anything outside the Screenshots album is never loaded.
I flicked one down by mistake. Swipe right to bring it back, or remove it on the review screen before you confirm.
Where do deleted screenshots go? Once you confirm in the system dialog, they are deleted right away. That is why the review screen comes first.
