About Abacist: Math Crossword Puzzle

Abacist is a math crossword: a number crossword made of equations, which cross the way a crossword's words do and share a number where they meet. Some numbers are given; the missing ones wait in a tray, one tile each. Place every tile so that every equation, across and down, is true. Every puzzle is made on your phone, and every puzzle has exactly one answer.

★ GENERATED, NOT LEVELLED
There are no levels to work through and nothing to unlock: a new puzzle is made whenever you ask for one, so there is no end to them. Each equation puzzle is made the moment you ask for it. Nothing to buy, and no lives, energy or coins to run out of.

★ FOUR SIZES, NAMED FOR THE TIME THEY TAKE
Quick, Short, Long and Huge: from 6 to 21 numbers to place. Quick uses + and − with numbers up to 20; Short adds × and numbers up to 50; Long and Huge use all four signs and longer equations, with numbers up to 100 and up to 200. Every number is a target as wide as a fingertip, and the larger puzzles zoom to make it so.

★ THE ARITHMETIC, STATED
A number puzzle of whole numbers only, from 1 up. × and ÷ come before + and −, then each runs from left to right, as on paper. Every division comes out exact, and nothing goes below zero, even part way through.

★ A DAILY PUZZLE, THE SAME FOR EVERYONE
Every day has one daily puzzle, made from the date alone, so it is the same puzzle on every phone. Each day you solve it is counted, and a day you miss costs you nothing: there is no streak here to break.

★ PLACING NUMBERS
Tap a blank, then a number - or a number, then a blank. Tap a placed number to give it back to the tray, and Undo goes back step by step. When every number of an equation is in place, a tick says it holds and a cross says it does not; nothing is counted against you. TalkBack reads every cell and every tile, each equation in words, and switch access reaches them all.

★ YOUR TIMES
The timer runs only while the puzzle is on screen, and stops when you leave. Your best time is kept for every size, and for the daily puzzle. A puzzle in progress is kept as you left it - one for every size, and the daily - so a huge one can wait while you play a quick one.

★ STUCK?
Reveal a number plays a short video first, only if you choose to watch it, and then puts the right number in a blank. A puzzle finished with a revealed number says so, and sets no best time. Nothing else needs a video: every size and the daily puzzle are free.

★ AN OFFLINE MATH GAME, WITH NO ACCOUNT
Every math puzzle is made on your phone, and your puzzles and best times stay on it. Only the adverts go online; the puzzles never need to. A puzzle game in light or dark, with the accent colour taken from your wallpaper if you like.

Ads: one full-screen ad now and then, after you solve a puzzle and leave it - never while you are placing numbers, never for the first puzzle you solve each time you open the app, never for a puzzle with a number revealed, and never two within 10 minutes. No banners.
