Tailbook: Pet Care Log

Tailbook is a pet care log for every pet you keep: vaccinations, flea and tick and worming treatments, medicines, vet visits and weight, with what is due shown first. It works with no connection and no account, and it needs the internet only for ads.

★ WHAT IS DUE, AT A GLANCE
Open the app and see what is overdue - oldest first, with how many days - and what is due today and in the next 7 days. Each pet shows what comes next for it.

★ DUE DATES FROM YOUR OWN DATES
Enter what was done and when, and either the next due date your vet wrote down or how often it repeats, in days, weeks, months or years. Mark it done and Tailbook works out the next date. A monthly date on the 31st falls on the last day of a shorter month.

★ A VACCINATION RECORD AND A TREATMENT LOG
Keep every vaccination with every date it was given, and every flea and tick and worming treatment with the last date and the next. Check-ups, grooming and anything else with a date fit too.

★ MEDICINES IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Note a course of medicine with its dose and how often, as your vet wrote them, a start and an end. The courses still running are listed on each pet.

★ VET VISITS AND WHAT THEY COST
Record each vet visit with the clinic, the reason, notes and the cost if you want it, typed the way your phone writes numbers: 1,200.00 or 1.200,00. One currency for your record, chosen in Settings.

★ A PET WEIGHT TRACKER
Log each weighing in kg or lb, or g or oz for small animals. Weights are kept exactly, and the change since the last weighing is said in words.

★ A DAILY REMINDER, IF YOU WANT ONE
Turn on one reminder a day at the hour you choose. It lists what is overdue, what is due today and what is due in the next few days, and when nothing is due it stays quiet. Tailbook asks to send notifications only when you turn the reminder on.

★ A CARE RECORD FOR THE SITTER
Share one pet's care record as a PDF with any app on your phone: the pet's details and photo, vaccinations, treatments, medicines and the vet's phone, for a sitter, a kennel or a groomer. It is your own record and says it is not a veterinary certificate.

★ YOUR OWN RECORD
Tailbook gives no veterinary advice. It never suggests a vaccine, a treatment, a dose or an interval: every date and every interval is the one you enter.

★ BACKUP AND CSV
Save a backup file of every pet, photos included, and restore it on a new phone. Export care items, vet visits or weights as CSV files for a spreadsheet.

★ WHAT STAYS ON YOUR PHONE
- Your pets, their care, vet visits, weights and photos stay on your phone. They leave it only if you share a care record, or save a backup or a CSV file where you choose.
- There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Android's backup of the app's data is switched off, so a new phone starts empty unless you restore a backup.

★ WHAT LEAVES YOUR PHONE: ONLY THE ADS
Ads are shown by Google's ads software, which receives your phone's advertising ID, an approximate location from its internet address and how ads are seen. Tailbook never gives it a pet, a date, a cost or a note. An ad only ever comes as you leave a pet after recording its care, never while you type and never as the app opens. Watch a short video in Settings to turn ads off for a day.
