About Metronome
A metronome is judged on one thing: whether the beats are really evenly spaced.
This one schedules no beats. It renders **one whole bar** into a buffer, with
the clicks exactly where they belong, and hands it to the audio engine to loop:
from then on the spacing is accurate to the sample, and no timer can be late
because the phone is busy doing something else.
WHAT IS IN IT
• 30 to 300 BPM, with a slider and two buttons for single steps.
• Bars of 1 to 8 beats, the first accented — it clicks higher, so a bar can be
heard as a bar without counting.
• **Tap the tempo**: four taps and it goes at that speed. The average of the
taps, not the last one, so one clumsy tap does not throw it away.
• A pendulum that swings from the same number the sound was rendered from: what
you see and what you hear are the same arithmetic.
• Haptics on the beat, if you want them, with the accent felt harder.
• The screen stays on while it is going.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• It asks for **no permissions at all**.
• No account, no sign-up.
• No audio files: the click is computed by the app, which is also why the tempo
is exact — a recorded click would have to be scheduled, and scheduling is
what drifts.
• No servers, and no network except for the ads.
