About Mimic
Mimic is the four-pad memory game: the board plays a sequence, you play it
back. Get it right and it grows by one step, then starts again.
Every pad has a note, a colour and a shape. The four notes are pentatonic and
rise from left to right, so the sequence is a melody you can hum — and that,
more than the colour, is what you end up remembering.
• It opens on the board: no menu, no start button. Touch a pad and the game
begins
• A pad answers **when the finger goes down**, not when it lifts
• The longer the sequence, the quicker the game: the tempo tightens
continuously, with no jumps and no difficulty to choose
• The ring in the middle shows how long you have to answer, and drains while
you think
• Miss, and the board lights the pad it should have been: knowing which one it
was is half of the next game
• Never three identical flashes in a row — nobody can count those, and a
sequence that cannot be counted is not a memory game
• Your best run stays on the phone
**No audio samples.** The four notes and the wrong-note buzzer are computed as
you play: no files, no licences, a few kilobytes of arithmetic.
It can be played in silence too: every pad has its own shape and its own
vibration, and colour is never the only thing telling two pads apart.
What Mimic does not do:
• no account, no sign-up, no online leaderboard
• **it does not listen**: no microphone, no permission beyond the ads network
and the vibrator
• no servers of ours
