About Tempo — clock & weather

In Italian, "tempo" means two things at once: what time it is and what the weather is doing. This app puts both on your home screen, over the wallpaper you chose, with no frame, no card and nothing around them.

TWO TRANSPARENT WIDGETS
• Large — the time in tall figures, the date underneath, and next to it the weather right now: icon, temperature, today's low.
• Strip — five cells wide, one line: clock, date, the weather now and the days ahead, three to six of them, however many you ask for.

Neither has a background. Underneath is your photo, exactly as it was.

A COLOUR THAT FOLLOWS THE SUN
The accent is not a shade picked from a list: it is where you are right now between the real sunrise and the real sunset of the place you are in. Blue before dawn, amber as the sun comes up, pale at noon, warm again towards evening. Seven in the morning in December is not the same colour as seven in the morning in June, because it is not the same time of day.

MADE TO BE YOURS
• Typeface, size and shadow of the text.
• 12 or 24 hour clock, Celsius or Fahrenheit.
• How many forecast days fit in the strip.
• What a tap opens: whichever app you want. And a tap on the digits always opens the clock, because when you look at the time it is the alarm you are after.

AND A WEATHER APP TOO
The widget says the essential; the app says the rest.
• Now — temperature, apparent, wind, humidity, the sky in one icon.
• Hour by hour — temperature and rain over the next twenty-four hours, two charts sharing the same hours.
• Day by day — highs and lows for the week.
• A day in detail — when it rains and how much, the wind, the apparent temperature with humidity, the UV index with sunrise and sunset.
• Your places — home, work, where your family lives. One tap moves between them.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
• No account, no sign-up, no welcome tour.
• It does not ask for your location unless you ask it to: places are searched by name, and the phone's position is a choice, not the starting point.
• It does not keep track of where you have been. The last forecast stays on the phone so it can be shown without a connection, and that is all.

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY
• Internet — to fetch the forecast, and for the ads. The only weather service contacted is Open-Meteo.
• Approximate location — optional, and only if you pick "this device" as a place. Approximate because a weather forecast has no need to know which street you are on.
