Wheel

Who does the dishes, who goes first, who gets the book: write the names on the
wheel, tap it, and the decision is no longer yours.

It opens with the wheel already there, with something written on it. One tap
and it turns; it brakes slowly, and the last half turn takes as long as the
first three — because that is the moment anyone watches a wheel for.

WHAT IT DOES

• Up to 24 entries, each with its own colour.
• Tap the wheel, or the button: either one spins it.
• "Take the winner off the wheel", for turns without repeats down to the last
name.
• A tick under the finger on the last turn, when every notch might be the one.
• Remembers the names: you write them once.

IT IS FAIR, AND YOU CAN CHECK

The name is **drawn before the wheel moves**, and the spin is then built to
land on it. That is the right way round: if the outcome fell out of rounding in
the friction, the sectors a millionth of a degree wider would come up more
often. Here the draw is uniform by construction, and the repository holds a
test that spins a seven-name wheel four thousand two hundred times and checks
that every name comes up as often as every other.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

• No account, no sign-up.
• No servers: the names stay on the phone and go nowhere.
• No permissions at all: no location, no contacts, no camera.
• No network needed to work, only for the ads.
