Homeoffice & Pendler Tage 2026

Home office allowance, commuting allowance, German tax return: for work-related expenses every single day counts. SteuerTage counts your home office days and commute days for the German tax office (Finanzamt), calculates the allowances in euros and with Pro gives you a clean record for your tax return.

WEEKLY PATTERN INSTEAD OF DAILY TAPPING
• Set it once, e.g. Monday to Wednesday office, Thursday and Friday home office. The calendar fills itself.
• You only record exceptions: vacation, sick days, business trips, a swapped office day. Two weeks of vacation in one date range; weekends and holidays stay off.
• 4-day week, part time, job change during the year: all handled by the weekly pattern and the workplace period.
• Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve are not public holidays. If you have them off, you set that instead of the app counting wrong.

PUBLIC HOLIDAYS BY STATE
All public holidays of the 16 German states are calculated on the device, including the movable ones based on Easter. Regional holidays such as Assumption Day in Bavaria or Corpus Christi in parts of Saxony and Thuringia can be switched on.

RUNNING YEARLY TOTAL IN EUROS
• Home office allowance: €6 per day, at most €1,260 per year. The app shows how many of the 210 days you have reached.
• Commuting allowance: 2026 €0.38 per full kilometre from the first kilometre; 2025 €0.30 up to 20 km and €0.38 from the 21st km. Cap of €4,500 without your own car.
• Comparison with the employee lump sum of €1,230: you see right away whether claiming pays off.
• Switch between "until today" and a projection for the full year.
• Special case for teachers and anyone without a desk at the employer: the home office allowance then also counts on days with a commute. The app knows this rule.

EVENING REMINDER
Only on work days you have not confirmed yet, the app asks in the evening: home office or commute day? One tap in the notification, done. The reminder survives a phone restart.

STEUERTAGE PRO (MONTHLY OR YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION)
• Record as PDF and CSV: every day with day type and origin (recorded, weekly pattern, holiday), monthly lists and yearly totals. Ready to hand to your tax adviser.
• Several workplaces, second job, job change.
