True North Compass: Solnord

A true north compass that you can actually trust: Solnord shows when its own reading is wrong, and corrects itself with the sun.

Most compass apps hide their biggest problem. Your phone's magnetic sensor is easily disturbed by a magnetic case, a car or a steel railing, and the app quietly points the wrong way. Solnord measures the magnetic field, compares it with what the Earth produces at your exact location, and tells you plainly when something is interfering.

CHECKED AGAINST THE SUN
Lay your phone flat along any shadow and tap once. Solnord calculates the sun's exact position for your place and time and corrects the compass to it. At night, aim at the moon instead. No other compass app gives you a way to prove its accuracy.

TRUE NORTH AND MAGNETIC NORTH
Maps use true north. Solnord applies the magnetic declination for your location from the World Magnetic Model, built into Android and available offline. Switch between true and magnetic north with one tap.

NO ADS. NO TRACKING. NO ACCOUNT.
The app opens straight to the compass. No cookie banner, no video ads, no forced trial screen. Your location never leaves your phone.
