About Yoga Asana Practice Design

When you can't make it to your regular gym or studio class you can train anytime and anywhere with this Free Yoga practice designer. It offers a fully customisable yoga experience to suit your practice needs. Be it a just a few sun salutations or the full primary series.

Whether you need to focus on pranayama or asanas the yogi can assemble their own personal practice to focus on any specific requirement. Maybe you need to improve fitness with a cardiovascular flow practice. Or possibly your balance needs improving and core strengthening, with longer duration standing postures.

Get to know the basics of yoga using the 70+ included asanas whilst listening to posture coaching during the practice. Or alternatively, maintain your inner balance by meditating on the 2500 year old fundamental tenets of yoga via translated patanjali yoga sutras.

Suitable for beginner yogis through to advanced practitioners the app can be used for wellness, health, fitness, flexibility, exercise or teacher training.

Assemble your own yoga practice by adding asanas using an easily accessible tiled selection page containing asana icons.

Use the edit facility to choose the duration you spend in each asana. Then choose the type and timing of your yoga commentary.

Once a favourite yoga practice is built save it for reuse later. Or just use, or even modify, a preloaded practice and save a personal version.

Press start to commence your selected or designed yoga practice.

Keep track of your practice using the information screen at the bottom.

Learn the Hindi names for each yoga asana during the pose introduction. Listen to relevant commentary for each yoga posture. Replay current asana, move onto the next or go back to the previous one. Pause if you need a break.

For reference during each asana the posture is represented diagrammatically with a schematic skeletal picture showing alignment and associated main chakra.

Watch this space for updates adding more asanas, commentaries and yoga sutras. I’m also looking at the maths to make the animation look more ‘human’, but as always don't hold your breath

Good app to put together a yoga practice and then listen to the coaching or reflect on some sutras whilst doing the actual practice. Good for learning the asana names tio
