Back up photos, videos and folders to cloud storage in your own account.

Coldstore sends your files directly to your storage provider. There is no Coldstore account, subscription or server in the middle. We never receive your files or storage keys.

PHOTOS, VIDEOS AND FOLDERS

Find photos and videos through Android's media permissions, or choose folders with Android's system picker. Coldstore reads the sources you select and does not delete or modify the originals.

GUIDED AWS SETUP

Download the setup file, open AWS CloudFormation in your preferred region, and choose Upload a template file. The template creates a private bucket with versioning, encryption and storage lifecycle settings, plus a restricted upload credential. Review the settings and permissions before creating the stack. Bring its setup code back to Coldstore by pasting it or scanning the QR hand-off page.

UPLOAD WITHOUT DELETE ACCESS

The guided AWS credential permits uploading and listing within the backup bucket. It cannot download or delete your archived files. Bucket versioning preserves older versions when an object is overwritten. Keep your AWS account secure and review your retention settings.

RESUMABLE BACKUPS

Uploads use a local record of completed files and checkpoints for multipart transfers. Interrupted transfers can resume, and completed files are skipped on later runs. Choose Wi-Fi-only backups and charging requirements in Settings.

OPTIONAL EXTRA ENCRYPTION

Encrypt files on your phone with a passphrase before upload. Keep that passphrase safe: we cannot recover it. Restore uses your own storage-account credentials and the standalone recovery tool for encrypted files.

YOUR STORAGE ACCOUNT

Guided setup uses Amazon Web Services. Manual setup is available for compatible S3 storage, including Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi and MinIO. Provider features and storage classes vary.
