About Código Penal Brasileiro
O código penal vigente no Brasil foi criado pelo Decreto-Lei nº 2.848, de 7 de dezembro de 1940, pelo então presidente Getúlio Vargas durante o período do Estado Novo, tendo como ministro da justiça Francisco Campos. O atual código é o 3º da história do Brasil e o mais longo em vigênciaː os anteriores foram os de 1830 e 1890. Apesar da criação em 1940, o atual Código só entrou em vigor no dia 1º de janeiro de 1942 (artigo 361).
