The purpose of this application is to help you understand the meaning of the Quran but you should still learn the tafseer of the Quran to fully understand the message of Allah therein. No matter how excellent a translation might be, it can never replace the original; every genuine translator of the Qur’an will attest to this fact.

Every muslim should learn how to read the Holy Quran in Arabic, then learn the translation in his/her language along with the tafseer and most importantly live his/her life according to the teachings of the quran. There is no benefit if you aren't going to act upon it because it will be a witness against you on yaumul Qiyamah. The burden of the Quran is great and not easily upheld. Just look at the verse where Allah(SWT) says had it been reveled to a mountain, it would have scattered into dust.

Imam Ahmed narrates that Rasul Allah :saw: said regarding something: “That would happen when knowledge is lost.” One of the Sahabah asked, “O Messenger of Allah :saw:, how could knowledge be lost when we have studied the Quran, we are teaching it to our children and our children will teach it to theirs.” Rasul Allah :saw: said: “Woe to you! I thought you were one of the most learned men of Medinah. Can’t you see the Jews and Christians are not benefiting even though they have their scriptures (Torah and Injeel) right with them?”

It is reported that Ibn ‘Umar – Allâh be pleased with him – said, “We were the beginning [the heads] of this Ummah, and perhaps a man from the best of the Companions of Allâh’s Messenger – Allâh’s peace and blessings be upon him – and the most righteous amongst them could maintain only one chapter of the Qur`ân or thereabouts. For the Qur`ân was weighty upon them, and they were given knowledge of it or action based on it. But the last of this Ummah will find the Qur`ân light [and easy] – the child and the non-Arab will recite it, without possessing any knowledge about it.” Al-Harawî, Dhamm Al-Kalâm wa Ahlihî Vol. 5 p144.

Brief about the reciter mishari Rashid: Sheikh Mishary bin Rashid bin Gharib bin Muhammad Alafasy (Arabic: الشيخ مشاري بن راشد بن غريب بن محمد العفاسي‎; born in Kuwait on September 5, 1976) is a Kuwaiti preacher, imam quran reciter and nasheed artist. He is also known as Abu Rashid (Arabic: أبو راشد‎) (The father of Rashid).

Life and career of alafasy: Mishary Alafasy is recognized for his beautiful voice and unique recitation of the Qur'an. Many reciters have come to imitate his mode of recitation. He studied the Qur'an in the College of the Holy Qur'an at the Islamic University of Madinah ( Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia). He memorized the whole Qur'an in two years from 1992 to 1994 and then studied specializing in the ten-fold reading of the Holy Qur'an. He has impressed a number of great reciters of the Qur'an with his recitation.

Mishary Al Afasy is the Imam of Grand Mosque (Kuwait), and every Ramadan he leads the Taraweeh prayers in this Mosque. He very often leads the Taraweeh prayers in the UAE and other neighboring countries in the Persian Gulf. In 2007, he visited two mosques in the United States of America : the Islamic Center of Irvine (ICOI) in California and the Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) in Michigan.
