About Trailwing Count Notes

Trailwing Count Notes splits a hike into checkpoints so you know exactly where along the trail each bird was counted. Name the trailhead, add checkpoints as you climb, and finish with a summary of birds by section.

CHECKPOINTS ALONG THE TRAIL
• Start at the trailhead and add checkpoints like Ridge Overlook or Alpine Lake.
• New sightings are counted at the current checkpoint.
• The summary shows birds by checkpoint.

YOUR LIFE LIST
• Every species you have ever recorded, with the date and place you first logged it.
• New species are marked as LIFER in the session summary.

TRAIL AND MOUNTAIN SPECIES
• 47 built-in species: hawks, eagles, falcons, jays, nutcrackers, dippers, wrens, larks, rosy-finches, bluebirds, swallows, swifts, hummingbirds and more.
• Common and scientific names, plus custom species.

SESSION SUMMARIES
• Total duration, total birds and species observed.
• Species breakdown sorted by count.
• Your notes from the hike.

HISTORY AND STATS
• Past sessions as cards with duration, species and bird totals.
• Overall stats for sessions, birds and species.
• An active session is kept even if you close the app mid-hike.

PRIVATE AND OFFLINE
• Works without signal. No account, no GPS tracking, no ads, no in-app purchases.

Trailwing Count Notes is a personal counting log and does not identify birds automatically.
