About SlateMind

SlateMind is a chess app for one player and an engine that runs entirely on
your phone. No ads, no network, no account, and nothing to buy: every part of
the app is open from the first launch.

THE FULL RULES, NOTHING SIMPLIFIED
Castling on both sides with every square checked, capture en passant,
promotion to a queen, rook, bishop or knight, and a game that ends the way the
rules say it ends: checkmate, stalemate, the fifty-move rule, threefold
repetition and insufficient material. A move that would leave your own king in
check is not refused - it does not exist, so you cannot play it by accident.

SIX LEVELS, ALL OPEN
Beginner, Casual, Club, Strong, Expert and Master. Each level searches deeper
and takes longer over a move. The two easiest levels make real mistakes on
purpose, so a first win is a real win. The engine thinks in short slices, so
the board stays responsive while it works.

REVIEW EVERY GAME, MOVE BY MOVE
When a game ends, the engine goes back over every half-move and compares what
you played with what it would have played. Every inaccuracy, mistake and
blunder is listed with the move you missed, there is a graph of the evaluation,
you get an accuracy figure for the whole game, and you can step through the
game one half-move at a time.

ONE PUZZLE A DAY, WITH AN ARCHIVE
The same puzzle for everyone that day: mate in one or mate in two, taken from
games the engine really played. Solve it on the first try for a larger reward.
The last 30 days stay in the archive and can be played at any time.

YOUR GAME IS SAVED
Leave in the middle of a game and come back to the same half-move, with the
move list and the clock exactly where you left them.

STATISTICS
Games played, won, drawn and lost, kept for each level separately. Win rate,
win streaks, average game length, accuracy from your reviews, blunders per
hundred half-moves, and how your games actually ended.

MADE FOR ONE HAND
Tap a piece to see where it can go - a dot for a move, a ring for a capture -
then tap the square. Dragging works too. Flip the board, turn coordinates on or
off, ask for confirmation before a move lands, and pick a light or dark theme.

COINS ARE EARNED BY PLAYING
Coins come from wins, win streaks, your first game of the day and the daily
puzzle. They pay for a hint, an undo, a deeper look at one position in a review
and for the extra board themes and piece sets. They cannot be bought: the app
sells nothing and takes no payments.

NOT A GAMBLING GAME
There are no bets, no chips, no wheels and no prizes. Coins cannot be won by
wagering, cannot be transferred to another player and cannot be exchanged for
anything outside the app.

OFFLINE AND PRIVATE
The app has no network code at all. Nothing is collected, nothing is sent
anywhere, no advertising identifier is read, and it asks for no permissions:
no camera, no microphone, no location, no contacts, no notifications.
