After winning the World Rally Championship in the two-liter category in 1996 with the Ibiza Kit Car, Seat even decided to take its passion for racing. Coinciding with the launch of the new Seat Cupra Leon 290 in 2016, the concept is entering its 20th year. The Seat Cupra concept made its most significant breakthrough in 20 years with a historical success. On October 18, 2014, the Seat Cupra Leon Performance Pack, driven by SEAT driver Jordi Gené achieved the best-ever finish of a front-wheel drive production car on the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife race track in Germany. With all the unnecessary weight of the Seat Cupra removed, the Leon Cupra reached 242 kilometers per hour on the Tiergarten straight.
They produced five generations of cars with Seat Cupra, Leon, and Ibiza models.
