De Tomaso was founded in 1959 by Argentinean Alejandro De Tomaso in Modena, Italy. We want to remind you that Enzo Ferrari founded the Italian Ferrari brand in everyone's hearts in 1947 in Modena.
On the other hand, the Maserati brand, which is currently under Ferrari, was under De Tomaso between 1976-1993. In addition, the famous Moto Guzzi motorcycle brand within Piaggio was under De Tomaso between 1973-2000.
The brand, which produces both sports and luxury models, went bankrupt in 2004 and could have been another pride of the city of Modena, but unfortunately, it always went backward. De Tomaso, bought by the Italian Gian Mario Rossignol in 2009, is trying to return to its old days and is preparing to launch luxury vehicles with different body types in the coming years.
Although De Tomaso had many different models in its time, luxury and sporty, one model had a special place among them. The name of this legendary model is "Pantera." The engine of De Tomaso Pantera, of which 7260 units were produced between 1971 and 1991, was located at the back of the vehicle. Pantera's engine was a muscular American V8 in the Italian car body design and technique.
There were also 5.0lt and 6.6lt versions of the 5.8lt engine used in the De Tomaso Pantera model between 1971 and 1988, and all of these engines were used in American Ford models of the period, even on boats.
During the 20 years of its production, the Italian-American hybrid De Tomaso Pantera, which had different engine and hardware versions, had been a very dangerous opponent against its Italian and German rivals.
