TYPE THE EXACT SIZE
Type the number instead of dragging a percentage slider. The size box comes first, with the number keypad open and quick chips for 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 KB and 1 MB. Type any value in KB or MB, or switch to Range when a form also sets a minimum, such as 10–20 KB for a signature. To compress image to 200 KB, tap the 200 chip and Shrink. Forms disagree on what a kilobyte is, so you choose: Safe (fits both), 1000 or 1024 bytes. The result reads like a lab scale: 198.4 KB · 203,161 bytes · 1600×1200 · under 200 KB. You can also cap the longest side in pixels. A photo already under the target is left alone. If a target cannot be reached, you see the closest size that works, never a file that is over, and no file is padded with filler bytes.

AS SHARP AS THAT SIZE ALLOWS
Shrinking a JPG this precisely means testing several pixel sizes, not only lowering quality. Shrinksmith keeps the candidate closest to your original at the same byte budget. Each result shows an honest sharpness score: Excellent, Good or Visible loss. Document mode keeps text readable, so a scanned page at 100 KB still reads at full zoom. Photos stay upright after metadata is removed.

SEE BEFORE AND AFTER
Drag the comparison slider across the photo to see the original and the compressed copy in one frame. Pinch to zoom both, double-tap for real 1:1 pixels, or hold to see the original. The "after" layer is decoded from the exact bytes that were saved, so what you see is what you upload.

Four presets are included: Under 50 KB, Under 100 KB, Under 200 KB and Signature 10–20 KB. Batch is included too: pick up to 100 photos and bring all of them under one target.
