Flashsmith: Flashcards Offline

Flashsmith is a flashcard maker offline: it turns a pasted word list into a ready-to-study deck in two seconds, then reviews each card on the day you are about to forget it. No account, no sign-in, no card limits. Learn vocabulary for IELTS, TOEFL, JLPT or HSK, medical terms or anything you need to remember, even in airplane mode.

PASTE 100 CARDS IN 2 SECONDS
This flashcard creator needs one card per line, such as "abandon – to leave behind", and the deck is ready. Flashsmith recognizes the separator by itself: tab, dash, equals sign, colon, semicolon or comma, and you can switch it with one tap. Quoted CSV and a third column for an example or note work too. A preview shows the card count, marks problem lines in red to fix in place, and lists duplicates instead of silently overwriting them: skip, update or keep both. Open TXT, CSV or TSV files in any common encoding, including tab-separated exports from other flashcard apps, or share text straight to Flashsmith from your notes. You can also add single cards, with a picture from your gallery.

SPACED REPETITION THAT JUST WORKS
Spaced repetition with the SM-2 algorithm schedules every card, so you only learn one idea: a deck holds cards. The Today screen shows what is due and how long it will take, and one button starts the session. Grade each card Again, Hard, Good or Easy, and every button tells you in plain words when you will see the card next, such as 10 min, 1 day or 4 days. Undo fixes a wrong tap. Daily limits and learning steps sit under Advanced, with sensible defaults. Each grade is saved at once, so closing the app mid-session never loses a review. Reverse mode asks the back first.

FEELS LIKE REAL CARDS
Each digital index card has a thin red line, and it turns over with a smooth 3D flip, a soft paper sound and a light haptic tap. Tap to flip, or swipe right for Good, left for Again and up for Easy. Cards can be read aloud with your phone's own voices, in a separate language for the front and the back. Search finds any word in thousands of cards instantly, with or without accents.

SMART REMINDERS AND A TODAY WIDGET
Smart reminders arrive only when cards are due, at most once a day, at the time you choose, with the real number: "23 cards due, about 4 min". No cards due, or already studied today? No notification. Prefer no notifications at all? The free Today widget shows your due cards and streak on the home screen.

These offline flashcards have no limits: unlimited decks, cards and reviews, free. Organize decks in folders, star, suspend or reset cards, and start with six sample decks. Everything works with no internet, and there is never a "No internet" screen. Back up all your decks, progress and pictures to a single file and restore it on a new phone, or export any deck as CSV to keep or share, all free.
