StellarGauge Tank Monitor

StellarGauge is the companion app for the StellarGauge tank sensor. The sensor sits on top of your heating-oil, kerosene, diesel, water or rainwater tank, measures the distance to the liquid with a laser time-of-flight sensor, and broadcasts it over Bluetooth Low Energy. The app turns that into the level, the litres left and a history.

You need a StellarGauge sensor to use this app. Without one there is nothing to show.

WHAT YOU SEE
- The tank level as a percentage and in litres, on a gauge you can read at a glance.
- The sensor's battery, signal and firmware version.
- Recent readings and a history of how the level has changed.
- A tank picture that matches yours: classic, bunded, IBC cube, round vertical or round horizontal.

SETTING UP A SENSOR
- Hold the sensor's button for five seconds and the app finds it on its own.
- A short wizard asks what the tank holds, its capacity and its depths, and checks the sensor's firmware.
- Calibrate automatically from a known fill level, or by hand with a tape measure.
- Each sensor is paired to your account with its own encryption key, so neighbours can't read your tank.

KEEPS READING IN THE BACKGROUND
While a sensor is paired, the app keeps listening for its broadcasts with a foreground service and a notification, so readings keep arriving when the app is closed.

WIRELESS FIRMWARE UPDATES
When new sensor firmware is released, the app offers it and installs it over Bluetooth. The sensor never has to come off the tank.

PLANS
A free account covers one sensor and 14 days of history. Low-level, sudden-drop and low-battery alerts, a year of history, CSV export and up to 10 sensors are part of the StellarGauge Premium plan: if your account already has it, the app unlocks them when you sign in.

YOUR DATA
Sign in with your Google account. Your readings are stored on StellarGauge's EU-hosted servers so you can see them on any phone and on the web dashboard. There are no ads and no third-party trackers in the app. You can delete your account and its data from the app menu or at stellargauge.com/delete-account.
