About Palindrome: Reverse Singing

Palindrome is a reverse singing challenge and voice changer from Moonlet Labs, with sound effects made on your phone.

Reverse singing challenge
Record something short, up to 10 seconds, and hear it played backwards. Then copy what you hear: record yourself imitating the backwards sound, and Palindrome reverses your copy so you can play it next to the original. A pitch match score from 0 to 100 compares the pitch and loudness of your copy with the original. It's just for fun. Play another round whenever you like.

Voice effects
Record up to 60 seconds, then choose one of ten effects: Reverse, Chipmunk, Deep, Robot, Echo, Cave, Fast, Slow, Telephone and Alien. Preview each effect before you pick it. Effects are applied on your phone to the recording, after you record, so you never hear yourself through the speaker while you talk. Set a default effect in Settings.

Save and share
Save up to 50 clips in the library, each with its name, length and effect, and see how much space they use. Play, rename, share or delete a clip, with undo. Sharing sends the clip, with its effect, as an M4A audio file through Android's share sheet. You can also save a copy to your device with the system file picker, with no storage permission.

Good to know
Palindrome records only while its recording screen is open. If another app, such as a call, is using the microphone, Palindrome says so and records nothing. If a take is too quiet, it asks you to move closer. On Bluetooth headphones or speakers, playback may lag behind the waveform.

Privacy
Your recordings stay on this phone unless you share them. Palindrome asks for the microphone only when you first record, never records in the background, and keeps saved clips in its own storage. Clips are not backed up and are never uploaded by Moonlet Labs. No account needed, and everything works offline. The app is ad-supported: ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use the advertising ID. Moonlet Labs collects crash reports and usage analytics through Google Firebase, linked to pseudonymous app identifiers rather than your name or email; they never include your recordings. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first, and privacy options are in Settings. Privacy policy: moonletlabs.com/privacy.html
