About Hashmark: Tally Counter
Hashmark is a tally counter from Moonlet Labs, with presets for tasbih, dhikr and japa.
Count anything
Make a counter for whatever you count: laps, reps, visitors, pages. Give it a name and a colour, a step (1 unless you change it), a start value and an optional target. Turn on auto-reset to count in rounds: at the target the count starts again at 0 and the round number goes up. The count is big, the tap target is big and centred, and a −1 button fixes a slip. Reset asks first, and you can undo it.
Tap, press or feel it
Set each volume key to +1, −1 or off; the keys count while Hashmark is open. Every tap gives a strong vibration, with a different pattern at each 33, at the target and at each mala. A click sound is there if you want it; it starts off. The screen stays on while you count.
Tasbih and dhikr
Start from a preset: the tasbih after prayer (Subhan Allah 33, Alhamdulillah 33, Allahu Akbar 34), which moves on to the next phrase by itself, or Astaghfirullah, La ilaha illa Allah or SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi, 100 each. Each phrase is shown in Arabic, with a transliteration and an English meaning. You can also write your own phrase. When the sequence is done, Hashmark shows "Tasbih complete · 100".
Japa
A japa counter counts 108 per mala and shows the mala number and the day's total. Hashmark ships no mantra text: you name the counter yourself.
Focus mode
Dhikr and japa counters open in Focus: the whole screen is the button, with only the count, the phrase and an Exit button on it. You can dim the screen to 10% brightness, and the volume keys still count. Focus never shows ads.
History and export
Each counter keeps a history: a 30-day chart of daily totals, a list of daily totals and the recent tap log. Export one counter or all of them as a CSV file, with every daily total and every tap still in the 90-day log, and save it wherever you choose. Hashmark needs no storage permission.
Widgets and Quick Settings
Put a counter on your home screen as a 1×1 or 2×1 widget: it shows the name and the count, and a tap adds 1. Pin a counter to the Quick Settings tile: the tile shows its name and count, a tap adds 1, and a long press opens Hashmark.
Your counts
Counts are saved as you tap and included in your Android backup. Hashmark works offline and asks for no permissions.
Privacy: no account needed. Your counters, taps and history stay on your phone and in your Android backup, and leave it only when you export them. The app is ad-supported: ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use the advertising ID. The counting screen and Focus never show ads. Moonlet Labs collects crash reports and usage analytics through Google Firebase, linked to pseudonymous app identifiers rather than your name or email. Analytics never include a counter's name, phrase or count, or which kind of counter you use. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first, and privacy choices are in Settings.
