About Cone: Speaker Cleaner & Test

Cone is a speaker cleaner, speaker test and tone generator from Moonlet Labs.

Water eject
After a splash or a rinse, Cone plays a low, pulsing 165 Hz tone that pushes water out of the speaker grille. Choose Standard (30 seconds) or Long (60 seconds) and watch the progress ring. Cone raises the media volume for the cycle and sets it back afterwards, and the screen stays on while it runs. Take the case off first and turn the phone so the speaker faces down. On phones with an earpiece, you can run the cycle through the earpiece at the top as well.

Cone doesn't repair hardware. If the sound stays muffled once the phone is dry, the speaker may need a repair. It works on your phone's own speakers, not on Bluetooth speakers or headphones.

Speaker test
Play a tone on the left channel, the right channel or both, then sweep from 20 Hz to 20 kHz to hear where your speaker rolls off. Many phones use the earpiece as the second speaker, so left and right can sound different, and phone speakers are quiet below about 200 Hz. That's normal, not a fault.

Tone generator
Play any frequency from 1 Hz to 22 kHz: sine, square, saw and triangle waves, white and pink noise, dual tones, and linear or logarithmic sweeps, with volume, balance and an auto-stop timer. Turn the dial, type a frequency or step it up and down. Presets include A4 at 440 Hz, a 1 kHz test tone, 50 Hz and 60 Hz hum, and middle C. Your phone's speaker sets what you can actually hear.

Privacy: no account needed and no permissions to grant. Every tone is generated on your phone, and Cone records nothing.
