About Sudoku Solver

This app uses logic to solve a sudoku. Stuck on a sudoku?, use the camera to capture it, solve it, and then step through the solution until you find a clue to help you become unstuck.

The app also has a sudoku generator, and a mode where you can solve the sudoku yourself.

Logic techniques available to the solver include: Naked & hidden pairs, triples and quads, pointing pairs, box line reduction, X-wings, Y-wings, XYZ-wings, swordfish, jellyfish, X and XY Chains. Use the default solver or customise which techniques to use and their priority in the solve.


The app has 6 modes:

• Camera Mode – Capture a sudoku grid.

• Edit Mode – Edit the grid if capture didn't go right.

• Solve Mode – Solve or step through the last solution generated.

• Create Mode – Sudoku generator.

• Play Mode – Do the captured or generated sudoku yourself.

• Info Mode – Contains user guide for the app.

Each sudoku generated/solved is given a difficulty rating, and categorised as requiring basic, intermediate or advanced techniques to solve.

Since this app does not use brute force solving and does not include all advanced logic solving techniques, this solver will also get stuck on some of the most difficult puzzles.
