Turn your device into an light flicker meter by using its light sensor.
Also measure the illuminance and the RMS (Root Mean Square) of the illuminance.
Flicker refers to the amount the illuminance of a light source moves (or flickers) about its average value. Excess flicker can cause headaches or dizziness. Flicker measuring capability depends on the resolution and sampling speed capability of your light sensor.
Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to obtain the frequency spectrum.
• Select between lux (lumens per meter squared) or foot candles for the illuminance unit.
• The upper display shows a gauge with the flicker value, or Max, Min and average values of flicker illuminance and rms illuminance.
• Lower display shows a graph of the data vs time or a FFT of measured illuminance.
• Peak indicator for the frequency spectrum.
• Save graph data to file.
Light sensors will vary in sampling speed, resolution and accuracy from one device to the next. For indication only.
