TVHeady: Live TV for Tvheadend

TVHeady brings your Tvheadend server to the big screen: live TV, the programme guide and your recordings, in an app designed for the TV remote. Open it and the channel you watched last is already playing.

LIVE TV STRAIGHT AWAY
• Starts on your last channel, and changes channel quickly with up and down, channel +/−, the number keys or previous channel
• An info banner with the channel's logo, what's on with a progress bar, what's next and the stream's details, such as HD and Dolby Digital
• Pause and rewind live TV, then jump back to live. No server-side timeshift needed
• The controls are one press of OK away: guide, channels, record, audio track, subtitles, picture mode, favourites and a sleep timer

THE PROGRAMME GUIDE
• Pull the guide up over the picture: your channels by time, with a now-line, genre colours and what you're recording
• Jump to Now, Tonight or any day of the coming week
• Every programme's details, with Watch, Record and Record series
• Search the whole guide by title or by words from the description

RECORDINGS
• Your recordings as cards, with the episodes of a series stacked together
• Resume where you left off, or play from the start, even while a recording is still in progress
• Record a programme, a whole series, or just the next 30, 60 or 120 minutes of a channel
• See what's coming up, pause or delete series rules, and spot anything that failed

MADE FOR THE BIG SCREEN
• Built around the D-pad remote, and quick even on entry-level TV sticks
• A channel list with what's on now, filtered by your favourites or by your Tvheadend channel tags
• Great sound everywhere: Dolby Digital (Plus), AC-4 and other formats go to your TV or receiver when it supports them, and Dolby Digital (Plus) and other common formats are decoded in the app when it doesn't
• DVB and text subtitles, with a preferred language
• A Live TV row on the TV's home screen, with a card for each channel
• Server status: tuners with signal strength, who's watching or recording, and disk space
• Reconnects by itself when the network or a tuner hiccups

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
TVHeady talks only to your own Tvheadend server. No ads, no analytics, no tracking and no account with us. Your server's address and sign-in are kept on the TV.

WHAT YOU NEED
• A TV or streaming box with Android TV or Google TV (Android 8.0 or newer)
• A Tvheadend server, version 4.2 or newer, whose web interface the TV can reach (usually port 9981). Servers that announce themselves on your network are offered when you set up the app
• A Tvheadend account with streaming rights, and recording rights to record, or a server that allows anonymous access
• The home screen row needs a home screen that shows rows from apps, such as the Android TV home screen or Projectivy

TVHeady doesn't come with any channels or content: it plays what your own Tvheadend server receives, from your tuners or other sources you are entitled to watch.
