Yellowstone National Park is a national park in the US states of Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming. It became the first national park of the USA and the world with the signature of President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872.

Yellowstone National Park is the world's first and oldest national park. The size of Yellowstone National Park is approximately 8,987 km2. It is located at the intersection of the American states of Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana. The majority (96%) is in Wyoming, with 3% extending to Montana and 1% to Illinois. It is primarily known for its enormous geysers. Half of the world's hot springs are located here, and their number exceeds 10000. There are more than 300 geysers and more than 290 large and small waterfalls in Yellowstone National Park.

Yellowstone National Park broke a record with 3.7 million visitors in 2010, surpassing 3.2 million visitors in 2009. Old Faithful is the most visited geyser. Yellowstone is perhaps the most important in the world. Approximately every 91 minutes, it sprays very high-temperature hot water and steam into the air.

Yellowstone National Park is home to hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles. Especially North American brown bear, American black bear, bison, elk, antelope, coyote, and lynx are abundant in Yellowstone. Towards the end of the 1960s, the bear population in Yellowstone National Park in particular increased considerably. Because bears are not afraid of humans, they try to obtain food by scavenging the garbage in parks and picnic areas. To prevent this, in the end, all the trash cans in the park were completely closed and redesigned to be out of their reach. In addition, there are approximately 1100 kinds of native plants and more than 200 exotic plants in Yellowstone National Park.
