About 耳鳴りノート|引き金がわかる記録
Tinnitus can vary in intensity from day to day, and even within a single day. On days when you haven't slept well, on stressful days, or on quiet nights—there are times when it feels strong and times when it subsides, but simply observing the moment doesn't reveal "what triggers it for you." Searching online yields general information, not a record of your own ears.
The Tinnitus Notebook is a symptom diary that records the intensity of your tinnitus (0-10), pitch, type of sound, location where it's heard, how it interferes with daily life, and any triggers you recall at the time, all within this device. The more you continue, the more you'll see, numerically, what kinds of days cause your tinnitus to be stronger.
■ Trigger Correlation (The core of this app)
The first screen displays "Trigger Correlation." It calculates, based on your records, how much the average intensity of your tinnitus differs between days when triggers such as sleep deprivation, high stress, loud noises, caffeine, salt, and stiff shoulders were present, and days when they weren't. It identifies the triggers that amplify your tinnitus, such as "On average, it's 4.2 higher on days when you're sleep-deprived." It provides personalized answers that apps that only play sounds or read text can't offer.
■ Easy Recording
Whenever you notice tinnitus, simply select the magnitude from 0 to 10, tap the pitch (low/medium/high), type of sound (ringing/buzzing/hissing/humming/pulsatile), location (left/right/both ears/head ringing), how it interferes with daily life, and any suspected triggers. You can record one entry in just a few seconds.
■ Monitoring Progress
Displays the average magnitude over the past 7 days and the difference from the previous period. You can see, with colors and numbers, whether it's improving or if the number of louder days is increasing.
■ Analysis
Review the magnitude differences for each trigger, the average magnitude per month, and biases in pitch, type, location, and impact on daily life in graphs.
■ Summary/CSV for Doctors
Faster and more accurate than verbal explanations during doctor visits. A summary of recent recordings, average magnitude, progression, hearing characteristics, and triggers that tend to increase tinnitus can be exported as a CSV file (for spreadsheet and printing) using the device's sharing function. You can also record clues you want to convey to your doctor, such as pulsatile tinnitus.
■ The Basics of Tinnitus
Includes information on the basics of tinnitus, guidelines for seeking medical attention (sudden changes, unilateral tinnitus, pulsatile tinnitus), coping with sounds (acoustic care), lifestyle habits, and coping with emotions, all with sources cited (this is not medical advice).
■ What it cannot do (listed above)
・This app does not provide diagnoses. Trigger correlations and progression are guidelines for managing your health and do not definitively determine the cause.
・There is no function to play sounds to eliminate tinnitus (sound therapy). This app is solely for recording and analyzing your own symptoms.
・There is no automatic synchronization across devices. Records are saved only on the device used for input.
■ Information Handling
No account registration or login is required. All records and settings are stored only on your device and are never sent to external servers. This app is free, so banner ads (Google AdMob) are displayed at the bottom of the Home, Analysis, and Basics screens. No ads are displayed during input. Uninstalling the app will erase all records.
If your tinnitus suddenly intensifies, persists in only one ear, sounds pulsating, or is accompanied by hearing loss or dizziness, please consult an ENT specialist or other medical professional without delay.
Start by recording your current tinnitus. By simply recording one instance at a time whenever you notice it, you'll begin to see your own triggers.
