WHAT IT DOES

• Reads stored, pending and permanent fault codes, and explains each one in plain language
• Clears codes, with a warning first: clearing resets the readiness monitors your car needs for an emissions test
• Freeze frame — the engine conditions recorded at the moment the fault was stored
• Live data from 132 sensors: engine load, coolant, fuel trim, timing, oxygen sensors, speed, RPM
• Readiness monitors, so you know whether the car will pass its emissions test before you drive there
• VIN decode and safety recalls (recall data covers vehicles sold in the United States)
• Scan history, and a garage for more than one vehicle

THE FAULT CODE DATABASE IS ON YOUR PHONE

9,699 generic codes and 9,390 manufacturer-specific codes across 33 brands, with 23,768 causes between them. All of it ships inside the app, so a code looks up instantly in a car park with no signal. Nothing to download, no account, no subscription.

REPAIR ESTIMATES

Each code carries an estimated repair cost, converted from euro into your currency at European Central Bank reference rates. These are estimates, not quotes — the app says so wherever it shows one.

UNITS THAT MATCH YOUR COUNTRY

Metric, US or UK presets, or set distance, temperature and pressure yourself. The UK preset exists because Britain is mixed: miles and psi, but Celsius. Readings arrive from the car in metric and are converted for display only.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

No accounts, no advertising. Your VIN never leaves the phone — only its first three characters, which identify the manufacturer and country and are shared by millions of cars. Contributing anonymous scan data is optional and off by default, and you can delete everything you have sent at any time from inside the app.

WHAT YOU NEED

An ELM327 Bluetooth Low Energy adapter, and a car built from 2001 (petrol) or 2004 (diesel) onwards in Europe, or from 1996 onwards in the United States. Bluetooth Classic adapters do not work on iPhone — that is an Apple restriction, not an app limitation.
