This book discusses the history of idols, ancient rituals, and traces of treatises in various parts of the world, including inland tribes and the origins of offerings (offerings to supernatural beings). The author presents the argument that initially monotheism (tauhid) was the basic principle of existing religious teachings, before finally experiencing many deviations, which later became polytheism (shirk).
This book presents something different. Monotheism, monotheism started human religion, and the idols that were eventually worshiped were deviations from it. Monotheism is found even in the most ancient societies, just as idols also exist even in scientific societies in various forms. A book that I think is a must read in an era where religion is often the scapegoat for the phenomenon of underdeveloped civilization.
