Baghah is a science that studies how to use language effectively, so that the conversation of the first party (mutakallim) can be understood by the second party (mukhatab), does not cause misunderstandings, does not offend feelings, but feels polite, interesting, and can even create beauty (Hidayat: tt , p.1). In other words, the expressions conveyed are memorable. Balaghah science is also called Arabic stylistics.
The development of Balaghah as a field of Arabic language study cannot be separated from the study of ij'az al-Qur'an (miracles of the Qur'an), which includes aspects of language and aspects of meaning. In subsequent developments, Balaghah was divided into three areas of study, namely al-badi: al-Bayan, al-Ma'any. Each field of study contains discussions that are arranged systematically and appear in the form of rules.
Discussion Balaghah is balaghy or literary texts, including the Koran, where according to historical records, the Koran is the source of the birth and development of balaghah. Then, at the same time, the ulama used it as study material for discussing balaghah. Balaghah as learning material and as a method that underlies activities aimed at appreciation of balaghah (tadhawwaq balaghy) or appreciation of balaghy valuable texts, especially the Koran.
Balaghah with these three studies or three sciences has an inseparable relationship with uslub, because in essence the discussion of these three fields of study is a discussion of uslub.
