SSHerpa: SSH & Mosh Client

SSHerpa is an SSH and Mosh client for Android — a real terminal, real key management, and a unified file browser, with an optional zero-knowledge sync layer across your devices.

REAL TERMINAL
Real xterm-256color VT100 emulation — the same rendering engine Termux itself uses — with 7 built-in color schemes (Dark, Light, Eighties Hacker, Molokai, Solarized Dark, Solarized Light, Dracula) and 4 selectable fonts (system default, JetBrains Mono, Fira Code, Cascadia Code). Adjust text size with a stepper or pinch-to-zoom.

SESSIONS THAT ACTUALLY SURVIVE
Sessions keep running even if the app is backgrounded or killed outright — proven under real forced process death. Run several sessions at once in a tab strip, each independently backgrounded and restored.

SSH, MOSH, FTP, AND FTPS
Connect over SSH or Mosh, or manage an FTP/FTPS server directly, all from the same app.

KEY GENERATION, NOT JUST IMPORT
Generate Ed25519, RSA (2048/4096), or ECDSA (P-256/P-384/P-521) keys right on your device — set up a connection without ever leaving the app to generate a key elsewhere.

FIDO2 HARDWARE SECURITY KEYS
Authenticate with a YubiKey or other FIDO2 security key over USB or NFC — enroll a brand-new credential right in the app, or import one you already set up elsewhere. Both sk-ecdsa and sk-ed25519 are supported.

SSH CONFIG IMPORT AND JUMP-HOST CHAINING
Import your existing ~/.ssh/config in one tap — ProxyJump relationships included — and connect through one or more bastion hosts with real jump-host chaining.

A UNIFIED FILE BROWSER
One browser for SFTP, FTP/FTPS, and any S3-compatible object storage endpoint (AWS S3, Backblaze B2, MinIO, Wasabi, and more) — browse, upload, download, rename, delete, and set permissions where the backend supports it.

PORT FORWARDING
Local, remote, and dynamic (SOCKS5) tunnels that keep running independently of any open terminal session.

SSH AGENT FORWARDING
Forward your key to authenticate an onward hop from the server you're connected to — the private key material itself never leaves your device.

LOCAL TERMINAL, NO SERVER NEEDED
A real on-device shell, powered by a bundled BusyBox, no remote host involved — the same terminal rendering and session persistence as a remote SSH or Mosh session.

SNIPPETS
A reusable command library with ${variable} placeholders auto-detected from the command text — running a snippet with variables prompts you for each one first.

REAL RSYNC
A real, bundled rsync binary for genuine delta-transfer sync jobs between your device and your servers, upload or download, with an optional delete-extraneous-files mode.

CROSS-DEVICE SYNC
Keep your connections, identities, and snippets in sync across devices — zero-knowledge by construction, so only an encrypted blob unreadable without your passphrase ever reaches the server. Add a device with a QR code, no retyping your passphrase; invite teammates to a shared team in one tap.

WEAR OS COMPANION (NOT IN THIS RELEASE)
A genuine Wear OS app, not just a notification mirror — see every open session from your watch, run a variable-free snippet, or disconnect a session. Built, but not shipped in this release yet.

SECURITY BUILT IN
App lock with PIN and biometrics that re-locks the moment you leave the app, AES-256-GCM encrypted local backups, and a SQLCipher-encrypted database at rest.

Quick Connect is free and unlimited: type a host, connect immediately, nothing saved. The full terminal (SSH, Mosh, local shell), every font and color scheme, S3 browsing, snippets, SSH config import, and jump-host chaining are all free too. SFTP and FIDO2 need a saved connection or identity.

Pro is a single one-time purchase, not a subscription: it unlocks saved connections and identities, port forwarding, SSH agent forwarding, cross-device sync, and real rsync sync jobs.
