The BMW s1000rr is a sports motorcycle model produced by BMW Motorrad since 2008. Originally designed to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship, homologation was made for commercial purposes. An ABS braking system is standard, and an electronic traction control system is offered as an option. With 179.2 hp at the rear wheel, the BMW s1000rr is the most powerful motorcycle in its dyno class.
The BMW s1000rr was unveiled in April 2008 at the motorcycle show in Munich. The bike has a 999 cc (61.0 cu in) four-cylinder engine at 14,200 rpm.
The BMW s1000rr has a standard anti-lock braking system with optional electronic traction control. In 2016, the motorcycle weighed 204 kg (450 lb).
The BMW s1000rr was considered the most equipped sports bike in the 1000cc category at the time of its launch between 2009–2011 and had the most oversized bore in its class, with a bore and stroke of 80.0 mm × 49.7 mm (3.1 inches × 2.0 inches). . The BMW s1000rr came factory equipped with ABS and dynamic traction control, a first for an on-road superbike at the time.

In 2017, in a limited run of 750 units, the BMW s1000rr legally launched the HP4 Race package, an off-street, track-only variant. In this package, since the BMW s1000rr is produced only for the track, the rearview mirrors and headlights have been eliminated, and the motorcycle has become 8 kg lighter with its whole carbon fiber body.
