Inkidian

Inkidian is a native iPad app for writing by hand in your Obsidian vault. Handwritten notes are saved as plain files right next to your Markdown, and PDFs and images are annotated in place. WRITE WITH APPLE PENCIL • Ink that stays right under the tip, drawn with PencilKit, Apple's own ink engine. • Pen, pencil, highlighter, eraser and lasso. • Hold the Pencil still at the end of a line and it snaps perfectly straight. • Blank, lined, grid or dotted paper. ANNOTATE PDFS AND IMAGES • Annotations are written into the PDF as standard PDF annotations, so Preview, Acrobat and your browser show them too. You can still change or erase them later in Inkidian. • For images, update the original or keep an annotated copy next to it. • The highlighter keeps the text underneath readable. PLAIN FILES IN YOUR VAULT • Pick your vault folder once. From then on Inkidian and Obsidian work on the same files, with nothing to import, export or sign up for. • Works with vaults on your iPad, in iCloud Drive and with Obsidian Sync. • Handwritten notes are .inkd files: plain JSON with a public format spec, readable without Inkidian. • Search all notes, PDFs and images in your vault. SEE YOUR NOTES IN OBSIDIAN • The free Inkidian plugin for Obsidian shows your handwritten notes next to your Markdown, on iPad, Mac and PC. • On iPad, tap the Inkidian button in Obsidian to keep writing, and jump back when you're done.
