During your visit to the Picasso Museum in Antibes, discover the works of the Spanish artist in the place he actually created them and really understand how one of the greatest artists of the twentieth century was inspired by this Mediterranean environment! The last floor of the Château Grimaldi, which is the setting for the museum, is devoted to the very rich ensemble that Picasso created here in autumn 1946. It is enriched with 78 original ceramic pieces and two sculptures donated by the artist himself, as well as other works on loan from the state which complete the visit.
But the visit doesn’t end there! Because among the many other modern and contemporary artists on show here, one large exhibition room is devoted to Nicolas de Staël, who spent the last months of his life in Antibes, two others to Hans Hartung and Anna-Eva Bergman, who lived here for many years. Finally, the terrace overlooking the see will allow you to discover a group of major sculptures by Germaine Richier, Joan Miró, Anne and Patrick Poirier or Bernard Pagès.
