Submarine BECUNA is a BALAO class submarine built in 1944 by Electric Boat Company in Groton, CT. She saw active service for 25 years before she was decommissioned in 1969. Now she is a museum ship, part of the exhibits of Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia, PA where she hosts thousands guests and visitors every year who want to learn about their history and get a glimpse into what life aboard a submarine is truly about. This tour provides insight into the daily lives and rigors of a submariner aboard a diesel-electric submarine utilizing photos, firsthand accounts, and recordings to recreate the conditions in which submariners served and offer a greater understanding of what they endured.
