About Notivisor

Notivisor shows your phone's notifications inside your VR headset without interrupting what you are doing. A message, a call, a reminder — you see it without taking the headset off or leaving the game.

One app installs on both devices and works out which one it is running on.

A DIRECT LINK
Phone and headset talk directly over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. No server in between, no account, no sign-up. The text of your notifications never leaves your two devices. If the phone's network address changes, the headset finds it again by itself.

ENCRYPTED
The link is sealed with AES-256-GCM under a key derived from a pairing code only your devices know. Being in Bluetooth range is not enough to read anything.

ANSWER WITHOUT TAKING IT OFF
Messages can be answered from the headset: the reply box comes across with the notification, and your phone sends the answer. The notification's own buttons come too — archive, mark read, snooze, whatever the app offers — and an incoming call arrives with Answer and Decline.

YOUR PHONE'S SCREEN, IN A WINDOW
Over Wi-Fi, the phone's screen opens in a movable window next to whatever you are running, with one press from either device. Pair wireless debugging on the phone once (the app walks you through it) and your taps in that window land as real touches: scroll a feed, open an app, finish what you started. Without it, mirroring is view-only.

HEADSET VIEW ON YOUR PHONE
On shared Wi-Fi the phone shows and plays what the headset wearer sees and hears. Quest casting keeps working with the headset off your head, but it is Quest only. scrcpy works on any headset, but the proximity sensor has to think the headset is worn, and you can switch the sensor off from the phone. The headset needs wireless debugging, enabled from a computer after every restart. The window cannot control the headset.

TYPE WITH A REAL KEYBOARD
Pointing at letters with a controller is the worst part of VR. Write on the phone instead, with autocorrect and swipe, tap Type text, and it arrives in the headset ready to paste into any field. Nothing to set up on the headset.

SET UP IN HALF A MINUTE
Tap Connect a headset on the phone, then Scan QR in the headset. The code carries the pairing code, the connection type and the address, so nothing has to be matched up by hand. No camera on your headset? Type the 16 digits instead.

YOU CHOOSE WHAT GETS THROUGH
Every installed app, with a switch each. Two modes: forward everything except what you uncheck, or only what you check. Persistent notifications like downloads and music are off by default and can be switched on.

TIDY IN THE HEADSET
Each source app gets its own notification channel and icon, so one app can be muted in the headset's own settings. Dismissing in either place clears both. Repeats are filtered, so counters and download progress do not flood you.

THE SMALL THINGS THAT ADD UP
A login code gets a copy button. The clipboard can be sent across, and a link goes straight into the headset's browser. The phone can silence itself while the headset has your notifications. The phone shows the headset's battery, controls its media and can make a misplaced headset beep. A quick settings tile pauses forwarding, and a broadcast API hooks into Tasker. Quit and stop really takes the app out of the background.

SUPPORTED DEVICES
Built for Meta Quest 3 and 3S, and works on other Android-based headsets too. On Pico notifications arrive, but you cannot reply to them or press their buttons there, and the system hides them entirely in passthrough. Pico also keeps the camera from ordinary apps, so the pairing code is typed in by hand.

WHAT IT NEEDS
Notification access, without which Android lets no app read notifications. And unrestricted battery use, or your phone will stop the app soon after the screen goes off. The app explains both and takes you to the right settings.

Free, no ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics. The source code is public on GitHub, under a noncommercial license.
