Volkey: Volume Button & Keys

A volume button on your screen, for when the hardware keys let you down.

Volkey puts calm, precise virtual keys over any app: a floating volume button, a Floating Ball that opens into a ring of keys, and a Screen off key for a worn power button. It is made for phones with a broken or stuck volume button, cases that cover the side keys, and anyone who finds small buttons hard to press.

ON-SCREEN VOLUME BUTTON AND VIRTUAL KEYS
• Floating + and − keys change the volume in exactly the same steps as your hardware volume button.
• Drag the keys anywhere; their place is remembered for portrait and landscape.
• Choose size, opacity, vertical or horizontal layout and an optional Mute key.
• The overlay is only as large as the keys, so the rest of the screen stays usable.
• The keys step aside automatically while you type or watch full-screen video.

FLOATING BALL, LIKE A VIRTUAL HOME BUTTON
Fold the keys into one small, translucent ball at the edge of the screen, like a virtual Home button. It snaps to the nearest edge, fades when idle and can be dragged anywhere. Tap it and a ring of virtual keys opens: Volume up, Volume down, Mute, Ringer mode, the volume panel and, if you turn it on, Screen off. Tap outside, or wait a moment, and it folds back into the ball.

SCREEN OFF KEY INSTEAD OF A POWER BUTTON
Turn the screen off with one tap when the power button is worn or hard to reach. Volkey uses Android's Device Admin permission for this, limited to one policy: locking the screen. It is requested only when you turn the key on, after a clear explanation, and you can revoke it at any time in Settings so the app uninstalls normally. On some phones Android then asks for your PIN instead of a fingerprint to unlock; this is a system rule.

ALL FIVE VOLUMES AND RINGER MODE
• Sliders for media, ring, alarm, call and notification volume, marked with your phone's real steps.
• Mute and unmute with one tap.
• Switch the ringer between Sound, Vibrate and Silent. Silent needs Do Not Disturb access, asked only when you choose it.

SHORTCUTS: NOTIFICATION, QUICK SETTINGS TILE, WIDGET
• A control notification with −, +, Show or Hide, and Ball or Bar.
• A Quick Settings tile to turn the keys on and off.
• A home screen widget with + and − keys.
• Optional start on boot, so the keys come back after a restart.

PERMISSIONS AND PRIVACY
Volkey changes the system volume and turns the screen off only when you press a key. It does not use an accessibility service and never reads what is on your screen. It needs permission to display over other apps to draw the keys, and a foreground service with a small notification to keep them running. Do Not Disturb, Device Admin and usage access (for Pro per-app hiding) are optional and asked only for the feature that needs them. No account, no location, no microphone; settings stay on your device. The keys and the ball never show ads.
