About Earprint: Hearing Test App

A clear, calm hearing test for both ears, with a real audiogram at the end.

Earprint is a hearing test app that plays pure tones through your headphones and finds the quietest sound you can hear at each pitch, one ear at a time. In about five minutes you get your own audiogram, the same kind of chart a hearing professional uses, with a short explanation in plain language.

HOW THE TEST WORKS
• Pure sine tones from 250 Hz to 8 kHz, tested separately in the right and the left ear.
• Choose a quick check of four frequencies (about two minutes) or the full test of six frequencies (about six minutes).
• An up-down threshold search: the tone gets quieter after each "I hear it" and louder after each miss. Your threshold is the level you hear on two of three rising tries.
• Random pauses and silent catch trials mean guessing does not help.
• Before you start, Earprint checks your headphones (wired, USB or Bluetooth, with a note about Bluetooth delay) and plays a left-right check so the ears are never swapped.
• The microphone measures how loud the room is. If it is too noisy, Earprint tells you before the test and pauses during it until the room is quiet again.
• Volume lock: the media volume is set for the test and the volume keys are held, so a stray press cannot change the result.
• No headphones to hand? Try a practice run on the phone speaker. Practice results are clearly marked.

YOUR AUDIOGRAM
• Hearing levels in dB HL at every tested frequency, with the standard symbols: a red O for the right ear and a blue X for the left.
• Pure-tone average (0.5, 1, 2 and 4 kHz) for each ear.
• A plain-language range for each ear, such as "within the typical range", "mild" or "moderate", based on the WHO grades of hearing.
• Share a short text summary of your result with your family or your doctor.

HISTORY
Every test is saved on your phone with its date, headphones and room level. Open any past result to see its audiogram again and follow your hearing over the years.

EARPRINT PRO
• Extended range: add 125 Hz, the in-between frequencies 3 and 6 kHz, and 10 and 12.5 kHz at the top end.
• Tinnitus match: tune a tone to the pitch and loudness of the ringing you hear, with an octave check so the match is not one octave off.
• Compare two tests on one audiogram and see the change at every frequency.
• PDF report with your audiogram, a table of thresholds, pure-tone averages and notes, ready to print or share.
• Fine calibration per frequency for your own headphones, with a reference run or manual offsets.
• No ads anywhere in the app.

The free version is a complete screening test: both ears, 250 Hz to 8 kHz, the audiogram, the plain-language summary and your full history. Free users see a few ads outside the test, never while a test, a noise check or a tinnitus match is running. A PDF report can also be unlocked once by watching a short video.

Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, with a 3-day free trial on the yearly plan, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
The microphone is used only to measure how loud the room is, on your device. Sound is never recorded, stored or uploaded. Your results stay on your phone until you choose to share them. No account is needed.

IMPORTANT
Earprint is a screening tool that helps you check and track your hearing. It is not a medical device, it does not give a diagnosis and it does not replace a hearing test by a professional. If you notice a change in your hearing, pain in the ear, a sudden loss of hearing in one or both ears, or ringing that does not go away, please see a doctor or an audiologist.
