Sidekey: Volume Button Screen

Volume and power buttons, right on the edge of your screen.

Sidekey draws a slim rail of hardware-style keys along the side of your display, where your thumb already looks for them. It is made for phones with a broken or stuck volume button, thick cases that hide the side keys, tablets on a car mount, and anyone who finds small buttons hard to press.

A VOLUME BUTTON ON SCREEN, WHERE THE REAL ONE IS
• A machined-style side rail with + and − keys sits on the left or right edge of the screen.
• Tap a key to change the volume by exactly one step, like your hardware button. Hold to keep going.
• Drag the rail on the side preview to place it; set its height and opacity.
• It keeps clear of the camera cut-out and the back gesture area.

SWIPE ALONG THE RAIL
Run your thumb along the rail like a scroll wheel to change the volume quickly. Every step gives a light haptic tick, and the level appears next to your finger, such as 9/15. Tap for precision, swipe for speed.

A PINNED SLIDER FOR TABLETS AND CARS (PRO)
Pin one large volume slider that always stays on screen, vertical or horizontal, with the opacity you choose. Touch any point and the volume jumps straight to that level. Ideal for a tablet on a dashboard or a phone in a car holder.

DARKER THAN YOUR LOWEST BRIGHTNESS
The Dimmer lays a soft dark filter over the whole screen, so it can go below your phone's minimum brightness for reading in bed or in a dark room. The free dial goes to 50%. Deep dimmer (Pro) goes up to 95%, can switch on and off on a schedule, and continues smoothly from brightness into darkness.

POWER KEY AND POCKET WAKE
• Add a Power key to the rail to turn the screen off without the physical button. It uses Device Admin only for the screen lock policy; you can remove that permission in Settings at any time.
• Pocket wake (Pro) turns the screen on when you take the phone out of your pocket or wave a hand over the proximity sensor. It only runs when you switch it on.

• A control notification with −, +, Hide and Dimmer.
• Quick Settings tiles for the rail and for the Dimmer.
• A widget with volume and power keys.
• The rail moves up or hides while you type, and hides during full-screen video and games.

PERMISSIONS AND PRIVACY
Sidekey does not use an accessibility service and never reads what is on your screen. It needs permission to display over other apps to draw the rail, the pinned slider and the Dimmer, and a small notification so Android keeps the keys running. Modify system settings is asked only for the brightness slider. Proximity sensor readings stay on your phone. No account is needed, and all settings stay on your device. Ads never appear on the rail, the slider or the Dimmer.

PRO BENEFITS AND TERMS
The free version includes the side rail with tap, hold and swipe, media and ring sliders, the Power key, the Dimmer up to 50%, the basic rail designer, tiles and widget. Sidekey Pro removes all ads and adds the pinned slider, the deep dimmer with schedule, pocket wake, the full designer, and all volume sliders. Each Pro feature can also be unlocked for one hour by watching a short video.

Pro is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, with a 3-day free trial on the yearly plan, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in your local currency before you buy. Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled; you can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid the next charge.
