Home Security Cam - SpareCCTV

Home Security Cam - SpareCCTV gives your unused Android phone a new purpose by turning it into a home security camera, CCTV camera, baby monitor, pet camera, or shop monitor. Use one phone as the camera and another as the viewer to watch live video, hear what's happening, and manage supported camera controls remotely.

No dedicated CCTV hardware is required. Simply reuse a spare Android phone and create a convenient monitoring setup for your home, family, pets, office, or business.

Turn a Spare Phone Into a CCTV Camera

Place an old Android phone in the room or area you want to monitor and select camera mode. Use your everyday phone as the viewer and connect the devices using a QR code or camera code.

The camera phone can continue operating while the screen is dimmed to help reduce power use. Battery and charging information can be visible from the viewer when supported.

Live Video & Two-Way Talk

Watch your camera phone remotely with live video and sound. Two-way audio lets you speak through the camera device when supported, making it useful for checking on pets, communicating with family members, or monitoring a room.

Choose an available video quality level to match your network connection and device performance.

Motion Detection & Alerts

Keep an eye on activity with supported motion detection. When movement is detected, paired viewer devices can receive an alert with an available snapshot.

Adjust motion sensitivity, enable or disable detection, and review supported motion events from the viewer interface.

Photos & Video Recording

Capture snapshots or record video while viewing your camera. Saved media can be stored directly on your Android device in supported Pictures or Movies folders, giving you convenient access to captured moments without requiring cloud video storage.

Remote Camera Controls

Depending on the Android device and available permissions, SpareCCTV can provide useful remote controls such as:

Switch between front and rear cameras
