About Forty Thieves Solitaire
Forty Thieves Solitaire is the classic two-deck card game with a friendly Guide-me coach built in. It is the full forty thieves card game: two decks, ten columns and eight foundations, plus a coach that highlights a legal move and tells you what to do whenever you want a nudge.
Forty Thieves - also known as 40 Thieves, Napoleon at St Helena, Big Forty, or double patience - uses two full decks and ten columns. Build the eight foundations up from Ace to King by suit; on the table, build down by suit. No timers, no pressure - just one deep single player card game you can pick up any time.
WHY PLAYERS LOVE IT
- Learn as you play - turn on Guide me and the coach glows the card to move and where it goes, with a plain sentence about the move. A friendly solitaire for beginners, with hints whenever you are stuck.
- Five warm-up deals - the first five deals are built to be winnable, so you learn the moves before the real test.
- Daily Challenge - a new deal every day, with a day streak and one free streak freeze that bridges a missed day.
- Hint and a long undo history (up to 200 moves) - take moves back and try a different line. In a game this hard, undo is part of learning.
- Magic Move - stuck on a hard deal? Watch a short optional video to drop one card on any card one rank higher, any suit.
- Big, easy-to-read cards - clear ranks and suits, easy on the eyes.
- Calm Night mode - a soft dark table for relaxing evening play.
- A real challenge - one of the hardest two deck solitaire games, and not every random deal can be won.
HOW TO PLAY FORTY THIEVES - A SHORT SOLITAIRE TUTORIAL
- Build the eight foundations up by suit, Ace to King.
- On the tableau, build down by suit (a 9 on a 10 of the same suit).
- Move one card at a time; an empty column takes any card.
- Draw from the stock when stuck - there is no redeal.
- Clear all 104 cards home to win the deal.
These simple forty thieves solitaire rules are quick to learn but deep to master - a calm way to relax and a real test of patience.
IF YOU LOVE OTHER SOLITAIRE GAMES
If you enjoy Klondike, Spider, Yukon, Pyramid or TriPeaks, Forty Thieves Solitaire is your next favourite. Whether you call it forty thieves patience, 40 thieves solitaire or Napoleon at St Helena, it is a relaxing two-deck card game - with a coach in your corner.
Shuffle, learn, and win.
