About Kintsugi Pottery: Goldmend

KINTSUGI POTTERY — where breaking the pot is the point.

Throw wet clay on a spinning pottery wheel. Shape it with one finger. Fire it in the kiln. And when it cracks — because it will — trace the break with gold until the scar is the most beautiful thing on the piece.

That is kintsugi: the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. A mended bowl is worth more than one that never broke. Goldmend is built entirely around that single idea.

THE POTTERY WHEEL

Drag across the clay to pull the wall up and out. A ghost outline shows what the customer ordered — match it. Thin walls score higher and look better, but thin walls carry stress, and the risk bar tells you exactly how much. Every potter learns the same lesson: the beautiful shape and the safe shape are not the same shape.

THE KILN

Fire the piece and wait. The glaze settles, the colour comes up, and the cracks appear. No two firings break the same way.

THE GOLD

Run your finger along a crack and molten gold pours into it. The seam catches the light. The piece is finished — and it sells for MORE than a flawless one. Gold repair is not the consolation prize here. It is the goal.

12 COMMISSIONS

Real customers with real briefs: a water jar for a riverside inn, a tea bowl, a vase. Some ask for a clean pot. Most ask for gold seams — which means you have to let it break on purpose. Three stars are earned, not given.

GLAZES YOU EARN

Celadon, ash, iron, cobalt. A new glaze unlocks every three pots you finish — free, no purchase, no timer. Ceramics should reward the work.

SLOW MODE

Switch on slow mode and nothing cracks. No risk, no failure, no pressure — just clay, wheel and glaze. It caps you at one star, and we say so up front instead of hiding it. Some nights you want to make pottery, not beat a challenge. Both are here.

SOUND FOR HEADPHONES

The wheel hums. The clay drags. The kiln breathes. Built for phone speakers and headphones alike — something to sit with in a quiet room.

WHY PEOPLE PLAY IT

Because you do not have to be an artist to make pottery here. Because it has one rule, not forty. And because most pottery games are about making something perfect — this one is about what happens after it breaks.

If you came looking for a relaxing game rather than a hard one, this is built for you. There is no fail state you cannot recover from, no energy meter and no timer at all in slow mode.

A SATISFYING GAME, AND A QUIET ONE

The wheel hums. Clay drags under your thumb. Gold pours into a crack and the piece is worth more than it was. Every sound is generated live from what your hand is doing, so it lands like an asmr game rather than a soundtrack playing at you — and there is a mute button one tap away when you want silence instead.

AN ART GAME WITH ONE HONEST RULE

Goldmend sits with the artistic games rather than the busy ones. You are not managing a shop or clearing a board. You are making one object, deciding how far to push it, and choosing what to do with the break. That is the whole game.

Made by Teamz Lab. Made to be played slowly.
