Learn Product Management 101

Every app you love started as somebody's bad first idea.

Product management is the job of figuring out what to build, proving people want it, and making it work for the business. This course teaches it five minutes at a time, with something to play with in every lesson.

Four students set out to fix a twelve-minute school lunch line. Over 24 modules they frame the problem, time the line with a stopwatch, test a paper sign-up, get told no by the cafeteria manager, and ship something that isn't the app they started with. You learn the job by watching them do it, and then doing it yourself.

TRY IT FIRST
Part I (Modules 1 to 3) and the boss's-idea lesson are free. Try them and see if it helps. If it does, $2.99 once unlocks the other 21 modules, every Field Card and every Talk Card. No subscription, no login, nothing to cancel. The purchase goes through Google Play, and it comes back on a new phone signed in to the same Google account.

WHAT'S INSIDE
• 24 modules, 96 five-minute lessons, in seven parts
• Something to play with in every lesson: sort the four risks, cut a feature list down to an MVP, build an OKR, map a story, run a fake-door test
• A true story in every module, from Netflix, Google, Microsoft, Pixar, the BBC, Adobe, Instagram and more
• A Field Card at the end of every module: a one-page checklist for a situation you'll actually meet, like your boss handing you an idea that pivots the team
• A Talk Card from every lesson: one sentence you could say in a meeting
• A Dinner Table Challenge in every module, one question to ask someone across the table

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
What a product manager does. The four risks (value, usability, feasibility, viability). Outcomes vs. outputs. OKRs and KPIs. Customer interviews and the ideal customer profile. Jobs to be done. Product metrics, vanity metrics and cohorts. Opportunity assessment, and sizing a market with TAM, SAM and SOM. Opportunity solution trees. User story mapping and what a PRD is. MVPs and prototypes. User testing. Demand testing. A/B testing. Business viability. Product-market fit. Product strategy. Product vision. Growth and retention. AI product management. And how to get the job.

BUILT FOR
High schoolers who'd rather build than wait to be told, and anyone who just got handed a product. No business degree, no coding, no experience assumed.

NO ACCOUNT, NO ADS, NO TRACKING
The app works offline. There is nothing to sign into, no email, no password. Progress, cards and settings stay on the phone. There are no analytics and no advertising of any kind.

Product Management is a Pettigrew Lab project, built by a product leader who spent twenty years doing the job and wanted a version of it he could hand a sixteen-year-old.
